The Library Services, being a significant force in research, teaching and related fields,
continuously provides support to the expanding instructional programs of the college. It
provides library materials and services that are relevant to the needs of its clientele.
The Library Service is administered by qualified librarian and responsible for the management
and implementation of the programs and services of the library, such as the reference/user
assistance, circulation, computer and internet access, referrals and others. Online public
access catalog is also available and can be accessed thru the LLCC webpage. Current
awareness service is provided thru posts on Library Bulletin Board. In addition, linkages with
nearby institutions and provinces are focused on sharing of sources for the convenient of the
users.
Borrowing Policy
A. For Students:
• Students may borrow a maximum of three books at a time.
• Borrowing of books for home use starts at 12:00 noon and must be returned the
following day not later than 12:00 noon.
• One week before the final examinations, borrowing books for overnight is no longer
allowed. No book(s) will be loaned if there are unsettled accountabilities.
B. For Administration, Faculty and Personnel:
• A maximum of ten (10) books is allowed for a period of one semester.
• No book(s) will be loaned if there are unsettled accountabilities.
C. For Alumni and Visiting Researcher:
• Alumni user with proper identification card can avail of the library collection for
rooms use only.
• Visiting researchers can avail of the library collection for room use but are required
to submit referral letter from their librarian.
Reference, Reserved and Filipiniana books with single copies, thesis and dissertations, and
periodical collections shall be used within the Library only. Fiction books may be borrowed for
a period of one week and can be renewed for another week.
Library Services under New Normal
A. Online Library Instruction:
The LLCC Library offers a virtual instructional service aimed at helping users become
more adept at identifying, locating and accessing print and electronic information
resources provided in the library.
B. Library Information & Research and Assistance
It provides virtual assistance to library users to help them in their information needs.
This may include, answering Ready Questions; provides Reader’s Advisory Services
and Bibliographic Verification.
C. Online Book Request:
Students and Faculty may send their suggested books to be purchased and
recommendations via email or other social media accounts such as
(library@llcc.edu.ph or FB, LLCC portal, etc.)
D. Remote Reference and Information Access:
The LLCC Library Electronic resources such as E-Journals and the Destiny Library
Managers (DLMN) program are accessible remotely through the Lapu-Lapu City
College Website.
Instructions:
Step 1: The student will ask the links and authorization from the Library Staff
or IT personnel.
Step 2: The student will access the links and apply any security code to the
links provided.
Step 3. The student may now use the system within his/her authorized access.
